DR. MIGNON KUCIA

Professor of Communication

Studying and teaching communications for nearly two decades, Dr. Mignon Kucia has learned and seen how competent communication is the foundation for all successful endeavors. In the classroom, Dr. Kucia teaches, among other courses, professional communication, interpersonal communication, public relations, crisis communication, and public speaking. Outside the classroom, Dr. Kucia has presented for and advised everyone from college students to career professionals to young entrepreneurs in contexts including the legal, banking, medical, human relations, and non-profit sectors. She is particularly interested in teaching others how they can succeed by improving their soft skills and emotional intelligence. Through JMK Consulting, Dr. Kucia offers individuals, non-profits, and corporations her expertise in how to make achieve their goals through strategic, skillful communication.

DR. REID VANCE

Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication

Reid Vance is an Associate Professor of Communication. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Communication from Mississippi College, an M.A. in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Azusa Pacific University. Reid teaches courses in mass media, journalism, sports media, and political communication, and serves as broadcast Voice of the Choctaws for Mississippi College athletics. Reid has prior experience in college student affairs, campus ministry, church leadership, and Christian camp ministry. A native of Canton, Mississippi, Reid and his wife, Cheli, live in Clinton where they are leaders in the college ministry at First Baptist Church.
